About us
Since 1 May 2023, we, the Sido family, have taken over the Hotel ILBERTZ in the Cologne-Deutz district as tenants from the Müller family. We will continue the long tradition of this hotel and offer our guests an individual service that makes them forget the stress of everyday life.
In 2011 the Müller family – took over the old-established Hotel Ilbertz in Köln-Deutz. Drawing on our decades of experience acquired from successfully running our Hotel Imperial in Ehrenfeld, the building was renovated and completely modernised. Today our Deutz hotel boasts 26 comfortable and individually-styled rooms.
As is often the case with older buildings, our rooms all have different layouts. Each is well appointed with a bed with high-quality mattresses, sufficient storage space for luggage, a desk, a flatscreen TV, a minibar and individually adjustable air-conditioning. Furthermore, our more spacious rooms have lounge areas, some including a sofa. Our bathrooms are all fitted with a washbasin, shower and WC, and included for your added comfort are a hairdryer, shampoo, soap and, of course, soft and fluffy hand-towels.
In the mornings – between 7am and 10 am – you will be treated to an extensive and lavish breakfast buffet. On offer are a mouth-watering selection of sausage meats and cheeses, mini-meat balls, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, mini-sausages and bacon. And for the more health conscious we also provide a range of breakfast cereals and fresh fruit. The buffet is complemented by a selection of jams and marmalades, bread, bread buns and juices. Coffee or tea will, of course, be served at your table by our friendly staff.
Our reception is manned from 6:00 am to 11:30 pm. During this period we are available to field any queries you may have. Outside these hours, it is unfortunately not possible to leave the hotel garage.
Local attractions and highlights
When the sun is shining…
A short walk will take you to the banks of the River Rhine, which affords a panoramic view of the Old City and Cologne Cathedral. Turn right here and stroll along the Kennedyufer in the direction of the Rheinpark. Along the way, you will pass Cologne’s historical tradefair halls (now the broadcasting centre of the commercial TV station RTL), the wharf for the Rhine ferry “Strolch”, Cologne’ open-air stage, the Tanzbrunnen, with its varied programme of events, and finally you will arrive at the Rheinterrassen – which includes a beach club in the summer months – and the scenic Rheinpark, From here you can take the opportunity of traversing the Rhine in a cable car which takes you directly to Cologne Zoo.
And if it’s raining…
Then we can recommend spending a well-earned and relaxing wellness day in the Claudius thermal baths. Furthermore, Cologne also boasts numerous outstanding museums covering a range of themes to appeal to every taste.
In all weathers…
You really should not miss the opportunity of taking time to admire our world heritage site – Cologne Cathedral or the Dom. The Dom Forum or the Dom itself offer fascinating guided tours. And if you are in the mood for more, then we can warmly recommend – based on our own experience – the guided tours of the city staged by www.spurenlese.de and www.stattreisen-koeln.de.
